Ilona Schmalfuss, MD

Dr. Schmalfuss is currently an Assistant Professor of Radiology subspecialized n Neuroradiology and Associate Director of Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy (AMRIS) facility at the Evelyn F. & William L. McKnight Brain Institute of the University of Florida. Her research interests focus on translation of new imaging technologies, in particular diffusion tensor imaging and spectroscopy, to clinical applications such as neurocognitive impairment following various surgical interventions, traumatic brain injury, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and movement disorders.

Julie Stierwalt, PhD

Dr. Stierwalt is an Associate Professor of Communication Disorders at Florida State University in Tallahassee Florida. She is a Research Associate at the TMH/FSU Neurolinguistic-Neurocognitive Rehabilitation Research Center and her interests include clinical applications of dysphagia through non-invasive measures.

Michael Groher, PhD

Dr. Groher is an ASHA Fellow and a Professor of Communicative Disorders at Redlands University in Redlands California. He is internationally known for his expertise in dysphagia, has published texts on this topic, and is associate editor for the journal Dysphagia.

Nader Antonios, MD

Dr. Antonios is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology at the University of South Florida and a fellowship in stroke and cerebrovascular disease at the University of Florida. He is currently a practicing neurologist at Shands Jacksonville.

Robert Amdur, MD

Dr. Amdur is a Professor, Medical Director, Residency Program Director, and Chairperson of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He specializes in tumors of the head and neck and has numerous publications in this area.

Robert Miller, PhD

Dr. Miller is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, and Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Rehabilitation Medicine and in Otolaryngolgy/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington. Prior to joining the faculty at UW, he was Chief of Audiology and Speech Pathology at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Dr. Miller is an ASHA Fellow and has numerous publications related to adult speech and swallowing disorders.

Scott Silliman, MD

Dr. Silliman is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine and Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Program at Shands Jacksonville. He completed his residency in neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a fellowship in stroke and cerebrovascular disease at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital / New England Medical Center in Boston.

Sue McGorray, PhD

Dr. McGorray is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Health Policy Research at the University of Florida. She specializes in clinical trials design and analysis, statistical methods in diagnostic testing, data and safety monitoring, and statistical consulting.

William Mendenhall, MD

Dr. Mendenhall is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He also holds the RR Million University of Florida Resident Alumni Professorship in Radiation Oncology. He specializes in tumors of the head and neck, has numerous publications in this area, and has been listed in The Best Doctors in America and Best Cancer Doctors.

Cindy Dubose, MA, SLP-CCC

Mrs. Dubose is a speech-language pathologist and an Administrative Coordinator at Shands Hospital. She has many years experience as clinical speech pathologist and currently specializes in the area of dysphagia following burn injury.
